Austin Bat Refuge

Our Work

Rehabilitation, conflict resolution, education, and release — protecting Central Texas bats and the people who share their world.

The alternative to euthanasia for injured and orphaned bats. We care for 400–600 bats per year.

Helping homeowners, businesses, and communities find humane bat solutions.

Live presentations, bridge programs, and school visits across Central Texas.

Thousands of bats returned to the wild. Every release is the goal from day one.

Austin is home to nearly 10 bat species. Learn about each species that calls Central Texas home.
